The River Colne is followed north to Hythe and then follows the opposite bank to Wivenhoe. Alresford Creek is followed to the tide mill at Thorrington and a return to the banks of the Colne leads to Brightlingsea. Paths lead around the head of Flag Creek before heading south to pass the edge of St Osyth Park. St Osyth Creek is followed by Brightlingsea Creek before looping round Point Clear's Martello Tower and heading east to Wigboro Wick Lane.
