Winstree Layer

From Tiptree Heath the route passes through Tiptree, Birch and Layer-de-la-Haye on the way to the Hythe in Colchester where the Colne is joined as far as the confluence with the Roman River. The Roman River is crossed at Fingringhoe Mill. Abberton Reservoir is passed on the way to Layer Marney, with its Tudor tower, and Tolleshunt Knights.

This path is an update to an earlier route called the Winstree Marathon.
