Around the Rhinogs

Gwynedd

61 km / 38 miles
This circular route explores the fascinating and varied country that surrounds the Rhinogs, reputed to be the roughest and wildest mountain range in Snowdonia.

Although this walk does not venture onto any of the summits of the Rhinogs, some sections of it are fairly remote and arduous. It is essential therefore that anybody undertaking this walk should be fit, well equipped and have good map reading and compass skills.

OCTOBER 2024: It has been reported that the century-old footbridge across the narrowest part of Llyn Trawsfynydd Reservoir has been closed since the summer of 2022 due to structural problems. It is not known if the bridge can be repaired. It may be possible to avoid the footbridge by making use of a short part of the A470 to the south of Trawsfynydd village.
