National Cycle Route 13 is taken through Rainham Marshes to reach the River Thames and continues to Purfleet. The Thames shoreline is followed to Grays where inland paths lead to Tilbury Fort where the river is rejoined. From East Tilbury Marshes the route heads inland again to Mucking and Corringham before a making a final loop round Fobbing Marshes.
