Lasso Essex - Mastodon Echo (09)

Essex, Suffolk

45 km / 28 miles
Field paths and minor roads are taken to reach Great Oakley and soon after the seawall is picked up as far as Dovercourt. Promenade and cycle paths lead north to Ha'penny Pier in Harwich. The route turns west and passes through Ramsey, with its windmill, Wrabness, with Grayson Perry's 'A House for Essex' and on to Manningtree where the seawall path leads to Flatford Mill on the River Stour just over the border in Suffolk. Essex is regained for the final stretch to Dedham where John Constable went to school.
