The route passes through Roding Park and Chigwell and continues through Hainault Forest, once a royal hunting forest, to Cabin Hill. From Havering Country Park and Havering-atte-Bower village Carter's Brook is picked up to thread through Harold Hill. Havering and Upminster provide a link to the Ingrebourne Valley which is followed to Rainham.
