Forth to Farne Way

The Forth to Farne Way is a new coastal Pilgrim Route which was officially launched in October 2017 and makes use of existing 'core paths' and sections of long distance walking routes with optional branches to places of spiritual, natural heritage and cultural importance. This route between North Berwick on the Firth of Forth and the island of Lindisfarne has been walked in both directions over the centuries by countless pilgrims..The full distance is 72 miles that can be enjoyed in 11 stages.

Information on the pilgrim history, related saints and churches visited en route is on the website listed below that provides route desciptions and a free downloadable background booklet (donations invited) also available locally..

The route overlaps with the John Muir Way and Link, the Berwickshire Coast Path and the Northumberland Coast Path and finally the St Cuthbert's Way as it crosses the sands onto the island, routes that all have descriptive guidebooks.
