Please find below the latest update from the NEC concerning the recommencement of LDWA Social Walks.

Following the lifting of almost all Covid-19 restrictions in England from last Monday, the NEC have issued guidance on social walks going forward.
Full details can be found by following the link:

In summary, the main changes are that there will be no limit on numbers on social walks (other than those set by the walk leader) and the Risk Assessment is no longer mandatory.
The Walks Register is still required for Insurance and NHS Test and Trace purposes and we ask anyone planning to attend a walk to reserve a place with the walk leader unless otherwise stated in the walk details.

Welcome to the website of the West Yorkshire LDWA.

Our Group was founded in 1976 and is a friendly, active local walking group.
We have a fine selection of social walks throughout the year, most are in the Yorkshire Dales, West Yorkshire and North Yorkshire, though we occasionally stray further afield.

On most of our walks, unless it says otherwise in the programme, you should bring food and drink for lunch and snacks. If the leader has planned for the group to eat lunch in a pub this will be clearly stated in the programme.

You will find our walks programme on this website, and it's also published in the LDWA national magazine, "Strider".

What3Words is a really simple way to talk about location.
It has divided the world into a grid of 3m x 3m squares and assigned each one a unique 3 word address.
It means anyone can accurately find any location and share it more quickly, easily and with less ambiguity than any other system.

The service can be used via the free mobile app or online map.
