Kettlewell. Saturday March 20th 2015. Distance - 20 miles. 23 walkers. Leader - Bob Clarke.

A popular venue and the opportunity to do a tough Wharfedale circuit attracted a large group of 23 walkers (including back from injury Brummy Dave Crompton).
Fine weather with good visibility throughout the day enabled us to keep a good pace going over the tough climbs of Old Cote Moor, Buckden Pike and Great Whernside.
Total ascent for the day 4828 feet.

Grassington. Saturday April 4th 2015. Distance - 24 miles. 17 walkers. Leader - Les Abba.

17 of us gathered in Grassington for a lovely Easter Saturday walk, and we weren't disappointed. Sadly Karen was unable to lead the walk, as she was looking after her mum, who we all wish a speedy recovery. Thankfully Les stepped in and did an excellent job. It was also great to see Ian Slinger back out with us.
We walked from Grassington over to Conistone, where we had a mid morning snack and then ascended steeply, forever upwards to Capplestone Gate followed by a lovely traverse into Kettlewell for a spot of lunch, in the sunshine. Surprisingly enough we then climbed again up to Cam Head before dropping down into Starbotton.
The obvious route from here was along the Dales Way back to Kettlewell along the river, but guess what, we climbed up again passing the old youth hostel at Moor End. The views on this section however certainly made the climb worthwhile, with a beautiful descent back into Kettlewell.
Finally we climbed up to Conistone Pie and descended through and along Grass Wood into Grassington. It was a grand day out in the Spring sunshine, with an extra bonus of 3 miles more than the advertised distance.

Ingleton. Monday April 6th 2015. Distance - 19 miles. 15 walkers. Leader - Andy Ward.

The group travelled to Ingleton for the second of its Easter walks, a re run of Andy's Ingleborough and Whernside traverse.
Thick mist was soon burnt off as we gained height on our ascent of Whernside with fantastic views from the summit of the surrounding fells and the mist still hugging the valleys below.
Lunch at the Ribblehead viaduct was followed by a tough climb up Park Fell and super ridge walk to the summit of Ingleborough and more fantastic views.
We returned via Crina Bottom Farm happy and content after a truly memorable walk.

Fantastic weather greeted a bumper group of walkers at Bramhope for the last 15 of 15.

A great way to finish the year and we topped it off with a beer in the Fox and Hounds.
