The Data Protection Act received Royal Assent on 23 May 2018. It updates our data protection laws for the digital age and affects the way in which the LDWA keeps your personal information. We have published a Data Protection and Privacy Policy to help the LDWA to comply with the Act.
Personal information is any information that can be used to identify Users, including full names, date of birth, sex, email and postal address, telephone numbers, personal health details, photographs, purchases of goods and services and credit/debit card details.
The LDWA has a firm commitment to comply with The Data Protection Act and particularly with your rights under the legislation. Specifically:
Please be assured that your data is now more secure than at any time in the past. You need take no immediate action. You can withdraw from receiving publications as well as from emails if you wish. Whenever you attend a walk or other LDWA event you will be asked to give your consent to the use of your data to manage these events. We obviously need some limited personal details to run the organisation and to offer you the service you expect but we undertake to handle this data securely.
