The Thames Path follows Britain’s greatest river for 185 miles through a beguiling range of rural and urban landscapes. From a humble start in a field in Gloucestershire, the trail follows this ancient trading route as it meanders eastwards through six counties and the capital, before ending at Woolwich, where it joins the King Charles III England Coast Path. The walk is level and easy – along towpath and through water meadow, via villages and market towns, past countless seductive riverside pubs, and interlaced with lashings of natural and local history.
