Well-known outdoor author Ronald Turnbull has written a new book,"Long Days in Lakeland". It's a coffee table style hardback crammed full with adventures for lovers of Lakeland. He takes the reader on evocative journeys alongside lakeshores, beneath mossy crags and waterfalls to high passes and lonely tarns. He scrambles in and out of seven valleys and runs over the Bob Graham Round's forty-two tops. Turnbull takes you on a tarmac-free version of the four Three-thousanders. With lazier days in mind he plans ten daywalks, and combines fellwalking with the leisurely pursuit of ferryboat cruising. The book is illustrated with maps and sketches and includes many superb colour photographs.
