Ouse Valley Walk

Now incorporated in the Ouse Valley Way, the Walk is approximately 13 miles long. It follows the original towpath of the now disused Buckingham Canal out to Thornton, a distance of approximately 4 miles. It then follows footpaths through the attractive villages of Beachampton and Calverton before reaching the Milton Keynes riverside walk, the Grand Union Canal and the North Bucks Way.

October 2025 - The road bridge (and its footway) over the River Great Ouse near Thornton, Buckinghamshire (grid reference SP 751365) is reported to be closed for repairs. There is no serviceable foot alternative other than an unclassified road walk. The initial closure period is until May 2026.
