Church2Church Walks in Warwickshire

Warwickshire

251 km / 156 miles
A series of 53 consecutive church-to-church walks each ranging from about 1-6 miles, making in all a 156-mile journey around some of the most beautiful areas of south Warwickshire. The linked churches are all in the Diocese of Coventry and the walks start at St Andrew’s Church, Rugby, on the eastern side of the County, and finish at St John the Baptist Church, in Henley in Arden on the western side, churches both in the centres of these old market towns. Each walk is separately described so there are many options for tailoring daywalks, but with train access only to these main towns and to Stratford-Upon-Avon, planning for either local buses that link some villages en route, or for use of two cars would be needed. Discovering a haven of tranquility on your walk can be both refreshing and invigorating and in churches and churchyards there are many such hidden places of peace, for rest, reflection, remembrance or prayer, as well as much history and craftsmanship and wildlife interest. Researched and compiled by Gerald Lawrence, details and full route descriptions may be found on the dedicated website below, with free downloadable pdfs.
