General Notes
2026 marks 40 years of Meningitis Now and we hope that you will join us for our flagship event – the Five Valleys Walk! A sponsored walk through the stunning Cotswold countryside is jam-packed with something for everyone, whether you bring your friends, family or colleagues along. Dogs are also very welcome! The Five Valleys Walk is suitable for all ages and abilities, and walkers can start or finish at any of our eight checkpoints. Although the 21-mile route is a tough challenge, you can choose your distance and cover anything from 1.5 miles up to the full 21. You'll get to enjoy the beautiful hills and valleys en route, and once you're ready to call it a day, our wonderful friends at Stagecoach will be on hand to offer you a FREE bus ride back to your starting point, with the last bus leaving checkpoints at 4:45pm. We have a fabulous line-up of local businesses joining us throughout the route, providing you with snacks and drinks as you make your way around. Our team will then be ready to welcome you at Stroud Cricket Club with hot food trucks to buy your dinner and - if you manage the full 21 miles - a voucher for a free drink so you can celebrate with a well-earned pint. We also have a brand-new addition to the day – the Five Valleys 5K! This is a shorter accessible walk, separate from the main 21-miles and will take you along the beautiful canal path to Stonehouse Court Hotel Canalside Lawn, with an activity for the kids along the way and then back to the Stroud Cricket Club to finish! Please note that this is not a running event
