Transport

Bollington can be reached by bus from Macclesfield; Whaley Bridge and Buxton have train links with Manchester & Stockport; a bus from Stockport serves Hayfield. The Sunday return from Glossop is by train to Manchester Piccadilly.

Options

Through walkers can join Pete Nolan on a 2.5 mile/hr schedule, should carry rucksacks and kit for 3 days and book their own accommodation/campsites in Buxton and Hayfield.

Day walkers will find easy transport connections to Macclesfield, Stockport and Manchester at the start and end of each day.

Walkers can join Ann Robinson on a less onerous schedule on shorter stages, e.g. Whaley Bridge to Buxton on Friday, and Buxton to Chapel-en-le-Frith on Saturday.

Social

We are planning to include a number of Social activities, all details will be available on our website in good time. One will hopefully be a group evening meal in either Buxton or Hayfield with an invite to friends and relations. Again, details will be on our website. There will be a meal at Glossop at the end of this walk for walkers on both the long and short events (Ann Robinson to organise). Walkers on the short walk may be able to give walkers on the long walk lifts back to Hayfield.
