London LDWA

There's a promise of decent weather this week and thanks to Ron's inventive mind we have a pop-up walk on Thursday that's definitely not to be missed. An Alternative Essex Way is the name and 'be prepared for the unexpected' is the warning. And on Saturday, of course, it's London LDWA's own challenge event, the Founders - 27 or 16 miles, whichever you fancy. Online entries have closed but you can roll up on the day and still get into this lovely event for a few extra pounds and pence. Full details below.

General Notes
The 22nd occasion on which we remember the founders of the LDWA by visiting the beautiful locations associated with them: Blatchford Down, Steer’s Field, Tanners Hatch Youth Hostel, Pitch Hill Toposcope and the old Peaslake Post Office. Off-road, on good footpaths and tracks in the Surrey Hills, designated an AONB in 1958. The routes offer a wonderful mixture of autumnal forest and downland. Together with the welcome provided at Cps and fine food at the finish, these elements make the Founders’ Challenge A Memorable Day Out!. Entry April 2018. Further details on LDWA London website
