Hello everyone
And a special welcome back to the land of the living for any LDWA London members who may have recently completed the North Yorks Moors "100". A magnificent achievement indeed. You can view the full results of this flagship LDWA event here:

Well this week seems to have proven that the English summer is, indeed, two hot days and a thunderstorm. But let's hope that we haven't seen the last of the good weather, and that the skies continue to be bright for this week's walking.
As usual for the time of year, we have a couple of great walks lined up, including one on Thursday whose name has, I must admit, baffled me completely. So let's have a look at what's in store.
So - first of all - the mysterious "Caterham Cloudsplitter" hits the streets on Thursday morning (this is a midweek daytime 19-miler). You'll need to join Ken outside Caterham station at 11.00 on Thursday morning if you'd like to go, and to find out what lies behind the name. Ken has also helpfully prepared a detailed a handy print-and-keep set of walk notes which you can download by clicking here
Then, to round off this short week nicely, on Saturday, Nigel will be leading us on a circuit of Egham, and, with a distinctly regal theme to his walk, picking up such notable sights as Windsor and Runnymede along the way. If you'd like to experience the genuine delights of the Western London outreaches, then make your way to Egham Station for 08.57 on Saturday morning. and in a major miracle of advance planning, Nigel advises me that SouthWest trains appear to have confirmed that trains are actually running as advertised that weekend!
Now finally - a quick request..
So - that's more than enough for now. Enjoy the rest of the bank holiday weekend (don't you just love this time of year!) and have a fantastic week.
Adam
