Route
Meet at Bayford Station

A very easy route with a few ups and downs near the lovely historic town of Hertford. Bayford Station, Bramfield, Watton at Stone, Hertford, Bayford. Finish at Bayford Station. There are a few short stretches of moderately busy road walking where care must be taken. Otherwise, the route is on quiet and beautiful tracks and paths with fine view of the Hertfordshire countryside. A few stretches of paths will be muddy or very wet if the wet weather continues. A walking pole may be very helpful. Very helpful but not essential to send your name and membership number in advance in case there are last minute changes to arrangements: text/WhatsApp walk leader on 07801803281. Buy return ticket to Bayford. Currently, the Oyster zone ends at Crews Hill, but check on Tfl website in case of any last minute changes. You can leave the walk at Hertford and get the train back to London if you want to shorten the walk. Bring food and drink as likely to be limited refreshment opportunities along the way. There is a small supermarket and very nice bakery at Watton at Stone where we will stop mid-afternoon. Due to the short distance covered on roads, please do not bring dogs on this walk
