As a prime tourist area, there is an enormous choice of visitor accommodation available in East Devon and West Dorset. But BE WARNED – the May bank holiday weekends are extremely popular, and accommodation can be booked up a very long time in advance. This is particularly true of the seaside towns/villages of Lyme Regis, Seaton, Beer, Branscombe, Sidmouth, Budleigh Salterton and Exmouth – all of which are on the Event route. The slightly more inland towns (including Axminster, Honiton, Ottery St Mary and of course Exeter) also offer accommodation, and the countryside in between is peppered with campsites large and small, as well as B&Bs, glamping, cabins and self-catered cottages.

There is everything available, from high end hotels to council-run campervan carparks. It would be impossible to list all offerings: the easiest way to find accommodation is via Google Maps as the vast majority are listed along with website and contact details. (Please bear in mind ease of access depending on your vehicle and confidence driving East Devon’s narrow lanes.)
