The group plans to walk the 77 mile Ebor Way, from Helmsley to Ilkley over 3 consecutive days. We plan to meet early Friday morning at a location yet to be decided, leave our cars safely parked, & then take a minibus to Helmsley to start our walk at 8/8:30am. Once we have completed the Ebor Way on Sunday evening, we will take a taxi from Ilkley back to where our cars are parked
Day 1. Friday 17 October - approximately 30 miles from Helmsley to York Minster, with an overnight stay in central York. There are lots of different accommodation choices here.
Day 2. Saturday 18 October - approximately 20 miles from York Minster to Wetherby Leisure Centre. Accommodation here is very limited, probably the best place to say would be the Days Inn a couple of miles out of Wetherby, using a taxi to take us there from the Leisure Centre/back the following morning.
Day 3. Sunday 19 October - approximately 27 miles from Wetherby Leisure Centre to Ilkley
General Notes
You will need to sort your own accommodation for the overnight stays in York & Wetherby, plus all your own food requirements for Friday to Sunday. Please note the walk will not have had a full recce beforehand. Together as a group, we will follow the guidebook (available to purchase via our website) & use the direction of some members of the group who checked various sections of the walk last year.
If you are interested in joining the group on the Ebor Way, please let me know as soon as possible (& before the end of March) so transport can be organised for the start/finish of the walk, & you can secure your accommodation.
