Returning the hospitality we received from Northumbria Group in September 2024, West Yorkshire are hosting a weekend with them in Kettlewell. A longer walk on the Saturday, followed by a shorter walk on the Sunday. Further details to be provided nearer the time.
Saturday 13 September 2025 - 17 mile walk, 4,200ft of ascent. Start 0830 from main car park in Kettlewell.
Sunday 14 September 2025 - 9 or 12 mile walk (option of 3 mile loop at the end) - Start 0930 from main car park in Kettlewell

General Notes

Our exchange walking weekend with Northumbria LDWA Group will take place on Friday 12th - Sunday 14th September 2025. It's going to be based in Kettlewell & we hope lots of our members will participate in one, or both days of walking. The walk on Saturday 13th will be around 18 miles, followed by an evening meal (around 7/7.30pm) at one of the pubs in the village with ourselves & Northumbria group. If you'd like to join in on this, you would need to pay an upfront deposit of £10 to secure table reservations. Therefore, for planning purposes we'd like to have an idea of numbers interested. So, could you please have a think & let us know if you intend to join us. Then put the date in your diary! There is a variety of accommodation available in the village, which is for you to look at & book as you wish. Some members are planning to stay up there for the weekend, others will travel each day. On Sunday the 14th, there will be an easier walk of around 10/12 miles. This will be followed by a subsidised afternoon tea at approx. 3pm, again at one of the local pubs. We thought it would be a nice way to finish what will be a wonderful weekend with our friends from Northumbria. Again, could you please indicate whether you'd like to join us.

LDWA Walks

The LDWA organises many challenge events and local group social walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations.
