We will have the opportunity to walk the Isaacs Tea Trail over the weekend. (Details of the Trail can be found on pages 22/23 in December 2023 Strider).
Friday night ? stop over in Alston.
Saturday morning ? Drive out to Allendale Town ? leave cars here. Start walk at 09:00am - walk 23 miles clockwise (to include optional sideshoot to Allendheads) ? to Alston.
Saturday night ? stop over in Alston.
Sunday morning ? start 09:00am 20 miles from Alston clockwise back to Allendale Town to collect cars.

General Notes
Following the success of our exchange weekends with South Wales Group, we are delighted to announce that Northumbria LDWA will be hosting an exchange weekend with us from Alston. Due to restricted numbers, at this time, the exchange weekend is open only to Primary Members of West Yorkshire LDWA. Accommodation ? please arrange your own accommodation. Suggestion is:- Alston Youth Hostel (self catering) ? you will need to book directly over the phone with the hostel ? at this time (Feb 2024) we are aware there are 3 x 6 dorms available. Contact details ? Linda- 01434 381 509. Please let Linda know you are part of the LDWA walking group. Alternatively we are aware there are bunkhouses; B&B?s; self-catering cottages in & around Alston. However, please note for transport purposes, ideally need to be based in Alston for the full weekend. Please can you confirm your interest in attending this weekend with Ralph so we know how many people are attending & further details/updates can then be messaged to your accordingly.

LDWA Walks

The LDWA organises many challenge events and local group social walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Social walks are normally led walks of around 20 miles.
