To do so you must pay by cheque (because that way you can be sent the welcome pack to hand over to your friends as a gift)  and follow this step by step guide:

1) Be certain that your friend is not already a member.

2) Print off and Complete a membership application form  for each friend or family you are buying for- with all of the details filled in (birthdate is essential for Individual members, but not required for family membership) https://www.ldwa.org.uk/membership/join/application_form.pdf 

3) Write a covering letter including your address (so you can be sent the Welcome Pack for you to give to your friend). Also  include the date you will hand the gift over (this is essential, as the Membership Secretary will hold assigning the primary group for the new member until after this date to ensure the primary group doesn’t send the new member a welcome note and ruin the surprise).   

4) Post  the completed application form,  and a cheque made payable to  ‘LDWA‘ to cover the cost of the  type of membership you are buying, and a Trail Walkers handbook if  you have chosen to give one to:
