Majesty of the Wiltshire Downs

Wiltshire

29 km / 18 miles
Sample the quietness and serenity of this rural country walk amongst some of the most stunning and soft downland slopes in Wiltshire. One travels back in time-warp as beautiful and stone cottages dated from the 17th century reveal their identity in the villages of Broad Chalke, Bishopstone and Burcombe, and you have the opportunity of walking part of two major drove roads of a by-gone era. As an extra, take a small added detour and view the regimental badges that were cut into the chalk downs at Fovant by soldiers stationed there during World War I.
