From our start point we head towards Nun’s bridge, then follow the river Thet and Little Ouse through the town and into the forest. We head north then west through Thetford forest to arrive at Santon Downham. After crossing and the river and the railway we start our return towards Thetford stopping at St Helens picnic site for lunch.
After lunch we continue to walk through the forest, parallel to the railway, to arrive back at the A11 underpass point. The route back to the carpark is partially urban

General Notes
Paths along the route are varied but mainly good. Paths close to the river may be muddy if we’ve had rain in the preceding days. Please bring enough food and drink to last the entirety of the walk. Toilets available at Santon Downham. Dogs welcome with well-behaved owners
