The route will take us south from Auchleven to climb the ridge of Bennachie at its westerly end. We traverse the tops of Watch Craig, Oxen Craig and Mither Tap before descending to the visitor centre (toilets and cafe). The route returns along the northern flanks of the ridge, mainly on forest tracks. The earlier stages of the walk have a sustained climb to the ridge (highest point 528m). The walk is on good tracks and paths
