Start from Plumpton Agricultural College near Lewes in East Sussex. BN7 3AE w3w://bothered.projects.crackled

Circular route, starting & finishing at Plumpton College & crossing some of the finest countryside in the South Downs National Park. The route visits Offham, Lewes, Glynde, Firle, Alfriston, Jevington, East Dean, Litlington, Rodmell & Housedean Farm, with approximately 7,000 feet of ascent

This walk is only open to those marshalling on this years actual Sussex Stride Event. If you are interested in marshalling the Sussex Stride Event (22/23 Aug) this is a great opportunity to walk this very scenic route prior to the event itself, to maintain your Triple Challenge and qualify for next year’s 100. Should you want to marshal on the actual event day and/or join this walk please contact either Jane Giles at janegiles18@outlook.com or Steve Hewitt at shewitt@outlook.com before 24th July. We are planning the same number of checkpoints as the main event with some hot food at East Dean, kindly suppled by one of our committee members. We are expecting to walk as a group and support walkers via mobile checkpoint vans. If people want to walk quicker ( or slower ) than the main group they are welcome to do so but may need to be ’self-sufficient’. There will be a special Route Description issued ahead of the walk identifying where the mobile checkpoints will be situated.
