An interesting & straightforward route that is mainly flat with easy gradients & long, relatively mud-free tracks, linking Royston in Hertfordshire with Cambridge in Cambridgeshire, passing through the NT Wimpole Estate & several attractive hamlets with ‘chocolate box’ style thatched cottages, returning by train (plentiful), if required & the option to ‘wander’ around Cambridge & its fascinating environs.
