A grand tour of some of the best view points & history in & around the city of Durham starting with a visit to Bearpark Priory & returning through Gary’s Wood. A mix of countryside & urban walking taking in some less used footpaths & wherever possible avoiding traffic & pavements. Generally good footpaths.
There is an option of walking a shorter 11 mile route, breaking off at NZ256425. Please ask for details

DATE TO BE CONFIRMED Although an urban walk, there is about 2200ft of ascents with quite a lot of short sharp climbs Dogs allowed Will mainly need to be on leads Several opportunities en route for toilet breaks & purchasing refreshments Drinks afterwards at the Stonebridge Inn - a short drive from the c.p There is an easy shortcut to the walk for anyone who only has the morning available or wants a shorter walk of 11 miles.
