August 2025 Update
Welcome to the August walks update
I would like to firstly congratulate everyone who completed the E & H Golden 50 last weekend. I know quite a number of our group participated and I have seen some great pictures come through on Facebook. I am just totally gutted I had to miss it!
Our walks schedule for July was quite light however with holidays this is to be expected. Unfortunately, Roberts Walk the Line had to be postponed due to adverse weather conditions. The new date for stage 5 is now 27th September with full details on the website and below.
August is looking pretty healthy but I would like to draw your attention to the annual BBQ walk to Martins House. Martin has put a lot of effort into creating this walk, booking a coach and arranging all the food. I really do hope we have a good turnout.
The AGM was not particularly well attended which was a great shame. The BBQ is however another great opportunity for the wider group to get together and meet each other. Some of you may not be regulars on the social walks and feel you do not know enough people to come along. I can assure you this is the ideal opportunity to join in and you would all be most welcome!
Please contact Martin to book your place T: 07890 753516 E: suffolkbassett@gmail.com
Finally I would like to remind you of the groups second away trip this year- Oxford Weekend Away
Places are still available. Full details can be found on the N & S website Norfolk & Suffolk LDWA - Oxford Weekend Friday 5th - Sunday 7th September 2025
I was lucky enough to attend the June trip (Cleveland Way) it was fantastic so I am sure the Oxford trip will be great weekend! Please contact Andy Dack if you would like a place daxterntl@gmail.com
