November 2025 Update

Welcome to the November Walks update

What a busy month October has been! Jons Autumn Wednesday walks have really taken off and we have now added a few more to the schedule although we may need to change the name to Winter Wednesdays!

You may also notice I have slipped in the New Years Day walk from Dunwich Beach. Dip in the sea optional! Keep an eye on the website as new events appear all the time.

Chelle’s Blog:

October’s busy month not only had 6 social walks but also some challenge walks further afield for our members. Well done to those who travelled to Cornwall to walk the 50mile "Potter around the otter"  and those who braved storm Amy in the Peak district  for the very challenging "Goyt valley challenge"  and closer to home the Essex & Herts "Blackwater marathon"
There are some photos on the WhatsApp group / Facebook pages.

Two of our social walks have recently been led by new volunteer leaders.
Please don’t be shy, there's several old hands who will happy mentor you. Its a rewarding role, you get to showcase your local area and choose how the walks allowance gets spent (generally ice cream or beer but subsidised carparking or train fares may also be an option.

Our new chairman Andy and myself will be attending the groups weekend on the 7,8,9th November in Lemington Spa. Sarah, Julian and Richard will also be there with their NEC hats on so Norfolk and Suffolk will have a good turnout. The event is an opportunity to network & share experiences with other groups and the main topic this year is volunteering, why we do it and how to get and keep volunteers etc....
Talking of which, Jayne is still on the lookout for volunteer marshals for the Winter Poppyline, a fifty mile event in Norfolk on February 14th/15th. Please contact Jayne.cook1963@btinternet.com if you can help. It doesn't have to be for the whole even either, a few hours at the start or even help clearing up Sunday morning will be appreciated. Our newish club Aprons will be  provided on loan in the kitchen and if you marshal 3 events you'll get a very fashionable Norfolk & Suffolk marshals t shirt with the bootprints on the back.

I’ve had exactly zero entries for the Christmas photo competition so your odds of winning are currently pretty high. Send entries to me via WhatsApp or email
