We, the Oswestry crew (Phil, Rob, Mark and Artie) had a lovely walk on Saturday 14th July 2007 when we took part in the LDWA Ludlow Challenge Walk. Unlike last year, when it hit 28C and was very tiring, this year the weather was spot on. The day before it had rained all day (and the day before that...) but on Saturday the gods looked down on us with pity and held the rain back for a day. It was mostly cloudy all day and the Sun only really popped out near the end of the walk.

One thing that we had remembered from last year was that the food was very good and we were very pleased that this year was no exception. We were provided with freshly made sausage rolls at the first food checkpoint and other checkpoints has various fruits, cheeses, pies etc. At the end of the walk, in the Ludlow Assembly Rooms, we were provided with an excellent buffet, a refreshing cup of tea, cakes and a glass of the local ale. One of the best (if not the best) walks that we have attended from a food perspective.

For some reason this year we managed to go off track and got lost a number of times (all except Rob - we will never live it down) and for some reason some of the walkers followed us assuming that just because we were in front then we knew the way - a fatal mistake (especially when following us). I can only put it down to the fact that there were many friendly folk to speak to and we missed the odd turning or stile as we chatted.

Anyway, we had an excellent time and look forward to the same next year. Thanks to everyone who helped organise this years walk.
