One of the organisations responsible for a Long Distance Path is considering the best governance model their path (which crosses multiple local authorities). A few approaches are currently used such as the Partnerships that now run England's National Trails consisting of local authorities, charities and voluntary groups. Other paths such as the Cape Wrath Trail seem to have no managing group at all to maintain them. A Community Interest Company was one option they were considering. They particularly wanted to ask members of the LDWA whether there were Long Distance Paths that we considered particularly well managed.
Any views on well managed paths?
