I use a Dazer II, you can get them on E-bay, don't pay too much for it, prices are vary varied on the site for these, they are effective and do work really well, except on deaf dogs and non-agressive dogs.

You've probably been and come back from your trip now but the info might be handy for future reference

Does anyone have a recommendation for an 'anti-dog' dazer? It's for trekking in the Pyrenees and avoiding all the bitey sheep dogs (past experience).
