Start Point: J36 Rural Auction Centre, Crooklands, Milnthorpe, LA7 7NU. (on the A6070 Burton road). Grid Ref SD 536 823 what3words: darker.jolly.unscathed Please park in front of the embankment opposite Café Ambio, as there is a sheep auction on site that day.

The walk takes the Lancaster canal towpath to Holme, before going up and over Farleton Fell. Nothing too steep, just a steady plod uphill. It then follows a mix of quiet lanes and field footpaths to skirt Scout Hill, Preston Patrick Hall, Crooklands and back to the Auction Centre, where Café Ambio is open from 9am to 4pm.
There are young (frisky) livestock in some of the fields, so only well-behaved dogs on leads please.

General Notes
From the South, exit J36 of the M6. Take the third exit signposted A65 Kirkby Lonsdale, then take the third exit on the next roundabout signposted A6070 Burton. The Auction Centre is immediately on the left. From the East, follow the A65 towards the M6 motorway. At the first approach to the motorway take the first exit on the first roundabout signposted A6070 Burton. The Auction Centre is immediately on the left. From the North, exit J36 of the M6. Take first exit on roundabout then take third exit on next roundabout signposted A6070 Burton. The Auction Centre is immediately on the left.
