This walk will be a figure of eight with a 9 mile & 10 mile routes. If anyone just wants to do one leg the 9 mile will be first. This is fairly flat on mostly good paths & tracks with less than 1000ft of ascent. The 10 mile is more undulating with around 1600ft ascent. Both routes are mainly exposed moorland.
The nine mile follows White Edge. It then heads east across the moor to follow the valley left side north to the small dam. At the north end it joins the track north to the disused Barbrook Reservoir. It continues north through the reservoir & track towards the B6054. Heading east off road we pick up the flask edge track north to the Sheffield country way. This is followed west to the Longshaw Estate. Then south to the cars.
The 10 mile heads south west to White Edge Lodge & the Grouse Inn for food & drink. South West & North West to Tumbling Hill fine view point. Down to Grindleford café & part way up Padley gorge & north to another view point at the A6187. North below Millstone Edge & east to Higger Tor. North to Burbage Bridge then south via Burbage Rocks to the Longshaw Estate & finish via Oak's Wood
