A downland walk to the village where Charles Darwin wrote On the Origin of Species. Circular walk. There is an advertised strike day rail service from London Bridge at 1046 to Orpington, from where the 358 bus runs to Farnborough. The walk leader will be at Bromley South station bus stop Z, at 11.30am (but note that there are no rail services to that station on that day), for bus 358 or 402.
People who want to do Peter's afternoon (Summer Time in Leafy Chislehurst) can carry on with him from the end of this walk, for a total of 20 miles
