Tony Willey was keen to see what the third Ring of the Three Rings of Shap actually looked like in the daylight!  So we all joined him for a superb day out in this limestone country around the Shap and Orton area. 

It was glorious weather and we had a great time strolling over the fresh spring grass with wonderful views East towards Mallerstang and the Pennine hills, with the backdrop of the Eastern Lakes behind us.  What more could you want?  Well, we also had plenty of refreshment stops and a good crowd to enjoy the day. 

Our chairperson was out on his bike practicing for the Fred Witton challenge event, but even biked up to Shap to see us off - now that's dedication!
