The St Peter's Way was originally devised by the West Essex Ramblers group in the 1970’s, and was  was first run as a long-distance day walk in the year 2000. The late John Mountain. who was involved with  running St Peters Way in a Day for many  years, penned this history  for Essex and Herts 40th Anniversary. A HISTORY OF ST PETER’S WAY IN A DAY

LDWA Walks

The LDWA organises many challenge events and local group social walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Social walks are normally led walks of around 20 miles.
