Hi everyone,
As we begin another month of walking, please spare a thought for those fellow members and friends who are having a tough time of it at present. Despite you not being out on walks, you are always in our thoughts, and we look forward to seeing you soon.
In this month's newsletter:
- Storage needed;
- Baking and volunteering for the Pewsey Downsaround (PDA);
- 5,000 Miles | The LDWA's 50th Hundred (YouTube videos); and
- The usual round-up of Forthcoming Walks
Storage Needed
Adrian Crocker has notified the committee that he will no longer be able to store the equipment used to support the running of the Pewsey Downsaround and the Ridgeway 40. We are therefore appealing to our members for suggestions regarding suitable 'accommodation' for all of the gear, which includes gazebos, tables, kitchen equipment, etc ... . Ideally the location needs to be secure and dry. A single location would be preferable, so we can successfully manage the inventory. If you have any thoughts, please let a member of the committee know as soon as possible.
Pewsey Downsaround (PDA) - 28th April 2024
Baking for the PDA
The PDA is fast approaching. The event is famous for the quality of its food; all produced by Wiltshire LDWA members. As always we rely on volunteers to bake for the event. If anyone can contribute baked goods (cakes, flapjacks, scones, pizza or other sweet or savoury treats) could you let Janette know at alexthecat48@icloud.com. Ideally they need to be brought to Pewsey Scout Hut in the morning of the event but if you contact Janette in advance she can usually arrange an alternative arrangement. We are happy to reimburse the cost of ingredients
Volunteers
Many thanks to those of you who have volunteered. Janette thinks she has contacted everyone about where they are needed on the day. She will send out another e-mail to you to confirm arrangements two weeks before the event. If anything comes up and you can’t make it please let her know.
5,000 Miles | The LDWA's 50th Hundred (YouTube videos)
A series of excellent videos has been produced to commemorate last year's event. Each of the three videos is approximately 30 minutes in length. You can view then via:

Forthcoming Walks
Finally, here's the usual look ahead to all the group walks and challenge events that are taking place this month within a 50-mile radius of Chippenham.
This e-mail has been sent to 550+ Primary and Associate group members. If you wish to opt out of receiving e-mails from us, you will need to change your e-mail preferences by logging onto the LDWA website.
That's it for another newsletter. All our newsletters are available via the Wiltshire LDWA website. If you have anything to contribute to future editions, please can you get it to me by the 20th of each month. I look forward to seeing you out on our group walks this month.
Warmest regards
Clive
