A circular walk, the first half recreating the route taken by Pip, Joe, Mr Wopsle & the soldiers, in pursuit of the escaped convicts, Magwitch & Compeyson, in chapter 5: from the village, to the churchyard, then out onto the marshes in the direction of the old Battery, turning east & back to the head of Cliffe Creek where the convicts were found struggling at the bottom of a ditch, then across the marshes to Egypt Bay where the hulks were moored. Flat except for 630 ft of ascent around High Halstow & a walking pace of around 3 mph
