Come and see rarely visited parts of Cumbria between Carlisle and the Solway Firth. No mountains but resonant names such as Orton Moss and Thurstonfield lead to Burgh by Sands and Burgh Marsh – site of the King Edward 1 Monument. Follow the Eden back to Carlisle for mince pies and hot toddy

LDWA Walks

The LDWA organises many challenge events and local group social walks, as well as listing many more organised by other organisations. Challenge events are normally between 20 and 100 miles and must generally be completed within a defined time limit. Social walks are normally led walks of around 20 miles.
