Meet outside front of Redruth Station
A day long tour of industrial archeology sites around Redruth, with your host, Stephie.
Assemble at Redruth train station at 09:20 am. Those coming by train from Penzance can take the 08.51 train to Exeter, arrives in Redruth at 09.18. Those coming from Plymouth direction can take the 07.42 Penzance train from Plymouth (06:28 Exeter, 08.11 from Liskeard etc) arrives in Redruth at 09.08 (then cross footbridge).
Returning direction Plymouth: 15:42, 16:18, 16:47, 17:13 ;
Returning direction Penzance: 15:46, 16:17, 16:42, 17:14

Step into a rugged landscape steeped in history with superb views on this fascinating walk through the Cornish Mining UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore landmarks that tell Cornwall’s industrial story - from impressive mines to attractive villages that once thrived on tin and copper. Highlights include Carn Brea, King Edward Mine, South Wheal Frances, and Gwennap Pit - a mix of industry, heritage, and a touch of Methodism!Bring a packed lunch & waterproofs. Redruth Station: ticket office, waiting room, toilets, cafe and car park. Also a cafe diagonally opposite the station entrance.
