Belstone Bimbles - 27th June 2026

The second in the Dartmoor Diaries series of smaller events located in differing parts of Dartmoor. A LDWA members only event starting and finishing at Belstone Village Hall in north Dartmoor.  By agreement with the NPA and Commoners numbers are strictly limited. Entrants may undertake distances of 10, 20 or 30 miles by undertaking up to 3 loops of approx 10 miles in a specific order.

The routes are a mix of open moor, woodlands, bridleways, footpaths and lanes comprising three loops from Belstone and encompass a number of Dartmoor Tors and Dartmor 360 squares. There will be cattle on the routes. 

A marshals event will take place on Sunday 7 June 2026. Please contact Paula at treasurer.cornwallanddevon@ldwa.org.uk for information about the marshals event and how to obtain a place.

Registration opens at 07:15. Hot drinks, squash, water and biscuits available before the start. All entrants to start at 8am. Loops must be completed in the specified order and all entrants must return to the indoor hall between to check in and for light refreshments/hot and cold drinks. A hot meal will be provided at the finish. All to finish by 20:00. 

**Parking for this event has been arranged at Belstone Cricket Club. Entrants must not use the Village car park**

Entrants must be able to read a map and follow compass bearings and must have sufficient knowledge, experience, equipment and navigational skills to take part in this walk in all conditions and especially in the event of bad weather. 

All routes will be covered by the OS Explorer OL28 Dartmoor (1:25,000).

We apologise but unfortunately dogs cannot be allowed to participate in the event.
