From Sampford Peverell c.p by the post office & hall, Lower Town Sampford Peverell. EX16 7FB. alternative start from Tiverton Parkway rlwy stn ST 04494 13968 at 09.15 for those travelling by train from either the Exeter or Taunton directions.Scheduled arrivals 09.02 & 09.12

A circular route which follows that of the Wellington Boot Challenge walk along the Culm river to Culmstock Beacon & on to Wellington Monument. The walk then descends to Samford Arundel for a picnic lunch stop. Or alternatively a pub stop at The Beambridge Inn.. The route continues through Holywell lake toward the old canal at Greenham before meeting up with the Grand Western Canal at Lowdwells. The canal towpath is then followed back to Sampford Peverell

General Notes
Bring a packed lunch & waterproofs. Dogs welcome on a lead. If planning to come by train please let the Leader know

Walk Report

The walk took place in sunny conditions with the entire route dry underfoot. 8 walkers took part, all LDWA members 8 Cornwall and Devon and 1 Dorset. Breaks were taken at Culmstock (morning break) at the Beambridge Inn for lunch and the afternoon break was taken at Lowdwells at the canal picnic area. Seven started at the car park in Sampford Peverell at 08.45, with one member Dani joining the group at Tiverton Parkway rail station at 09.15. The group had all finished by 17.45, a total of 9 hours.
