Please bring a head torch along to this walk. There is a possibility that you may need it for the last half hour or so of the walk.
Parking - either p&d in the main car park or free parking on Buxton Road, but there could be other roadside places. There are new temporary traffic lights in the centre of Castleton owing to scaffolding at the Castle Pub (looks like a complete refurbishment and roof work) - could take an extra 10 minutes or so to get through.
If you arrive early and fancy a coffee etc the Castleton Coffee Co will open 8-8.30 at the bus turnaround where we start.
It’s going to be cold (probably -1 to +1 all day)
On Friday at noon (9Jan) there is little snow on the ground in Castleton.
For lunch, the pub will be closed but there will be light refreshments in Grindleford Church.
All walkers are welcome for tea and cakes at Pippa & Alec's house at the end of the walk.
