GVC
The route - due to issues with Buxton Civil Council and Derbyshire Footpaths Association it was agreed an amendment would be required to ensure walkers/runners remain on the public right of way on the way up to Solomon's Temple. Agreed an extra marshal here would be beneficial. LY to update route descriptions.
Cutoffs - agreed to timeout walkers/runners at the final checkpoint if necessary. Reviewed all opening and closing times of checkpoints and agreed to adjust a couple based on the timings from last year.
Table - £39.95 each, was agreed we’d need two and could move one from CP1 to CP5.
Water carriers - agreed anything more than 10l is too heavy to lift, so will order a couple more 10l carriers.
Volunteers - LY confirmed we have a good number of volunteers already, we might be able to manage without South Manchester.
Entries currently at 85 and we have £3,000+ in the bank.
JB queried mementos/volunteer tops. Agreed on green t-shirts for volunteers, MB to research and speak with Dani at Peak Running. We have plenty of buffs from last years event.
Walks Programme
Late November - still need a leader.
Christmas - BB to look at returning to The Gate House in her role as Events Organiser. BB will also look at Ostello Lounge in Matlock and The White Lion at Sharkholmes.
50th Anniversary
LY has put together several walks, some for Saturday and one for Sunday. Not yet reccied.
Limestone Way
SU has split the route into 5 sections, each about 17-19 miles. Will require cars at either end, or transport between. SB and SU to discuss and arrange logistics and leader(s). Need to be mindful of daylight hours.
Volunteering
Agreed RT would send out a bulk email re supporting Dovedale Dipper in Aug, South Manchester on 20 Oct and Charnwood Marathon in March 2025. Also include a reminder re Suffolk 100 2025.
High Peak Hundred
General discussion had, agreed JB would send an initial email to gauge interest.
Agreed next meeting would be at The Boat Inn, Cromford on Wednesday 28th August at 6:15pm.
