The Mid-Norfolk Railway runs from Dereham to Wymondham; it is the longest heritage railway in East Anglia.

The walk starts in Dereham and first heads south east to Thuxton station; we then head north back towards Dereham. The walk crosses the line in several places.

Lunch is likely to be at Garvestone church, approx 11 miles into the walk.


The terrain is varied throughout with limited undulation. Paths are good. There is some quiet road walking

There maybe opportunites to buy food & drink prior to the start of the walk in Dereham; otherwise please assume you need to be self asufficient for the whole day. Dogs welcome but request they be on a lead where required
