This route is an anticlockwise circuit around the outskirts of Colchester.
General Notes
Free parking at the start. To get to the start leave the A12 at Ardleigh Crown (i.e. the Ipswich end of Colchester bypass) & keep in right hand lane at the roundabout. Turn right & exit onto the A12 slip road signed Chelmsford. At the bottom of slope turn left signed Severalls Industrial Estate also H A&E. You are now on Newcomen Way; at the roundabout go straight ahead (DHL depot on left). Meet on left at the end of the double yellows.
In view of the overall distance we will be making regular short stops; please bring sufficient food & drink.
After 18 miles we will be making a longer stop in Rowhedge which has a Coop open until 22:00 on Sundays.
On last September's walk we even managed a quick pint in the Albion.
